Bangkok and the islands in one route

Destination guide
Bangkok first, then the islands, with the boat times already worked out.
Thailand works best as two trips inside one. Bangkok is dense, loud and better than its reputation, a city of river ferries, temples and food worth building a whole day around. Then the country opens out. The Andaman coast in the west has the limestone islands most people are picturing, and the Gulf side in the east has calmer water and a different season altogether. Those two coasts do not share a calendar, which is the single most useful thing to know before you book, and it is where most itineraries quietly go wrong. We start from your dates, choose the coast that will actually be clear, then work the boat and flight times backwards from there. Inland, the north around Chiang Mai is a slower chapter of forest, night markets and craft towns. A good Thailand route is usually a city, one coast, and enough time to stop moving.

Starting points rather than fixed products. Every route is rebuilt around your dates, your pace and who is travelling with you.

Your planner goes through the current entry and document requirements for your passport before anything is confirmed, and checks them again before you fly. Thailand is usually straightforward, but we confirm it for your dates rather than assuming last season still applies.
That depends entirely on your dates. The Andaman side in the west and the Gulf side in the east run on different seasons, so we look at your travel window first and then send you to the coast that will give you the water you are picturing.
That is how most of our Thailand routes are built. A short city opening, then a domestic flight and a boat, with the connections timed so the moving day does not swallow a day of the holiday.
